The financial means of his idolizers is abysmal. Check the endowments of (nominally) religious colleges. After you leave the Catholics and mainline for the Baptist schools, there's a tremendous (to me, surprising) drop-off. The Pentecostals, et al, can barely keep the lights on, with few exceptions. That matches with what you see in the pews.

The doomsday scenarios have been passed from one prophecy teacher to another for decades. As serious theology, dispensationalism died a generation ago. Yet it lives on and on through popular preaching.
