Talking Beer commercial ‘leaves sour taste’

Quote:
Beer commercial ‘leaves sour taste’

PETER KOHN

A BEER commercial that claims the product is brewed according to “the German Purity Law” is “insensitive”, according to the head of the Jewish community’s antisemitism watchdog.

B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission (ADC) chairman Michael Lipshutz told the AJN that the Beck’s beer commercial should specify a “German beer purity law” to distinguish it from Nazi Germany’s racial “purity” laws.

The audio track for the commercial, which has aired on Foxtel’s Comedy Channel, mentions “the German Purity Law” and also emblazons the words across the screen.

James Tait, corporate affairs manager for Beck’s importer Lion Nathan Australia, said the advertisement “has been running in Australia and other parts of the world for several years”.

“The German Purity Law is a brewing law that ensures only natural ingredients are used. It has been around since 1516 and the ad is clear that it [the purity law] relates to the product.”

Foxtel corporate affairs manager Rebecca Melkman said the pay-TV provider, after reviewing the commercial, “believes it complies with the code. In our view, the commercial clearly refers to the German Purity Law as a method of brewing beer – it is a well-known beer brewing method that is described in detail in the commercial.”

She said she was unaware of any previous complaints regarding the commercial.

Lipshutz said the airing of the commercial in the general media could cause offence to some people, particularly those who were affected by the Holocaust. “I think it is insensitive. It leaves a sour taste.”

In a letter to the AJN this week, London resident Todd Tobias, who saw the ad on the Comedy Channel during a recent visit to Melbourne, said that while he wasn’t offended as a Jew, he was “surprised at the unfortunate, evocative, and in some ways darkly humorous misuse of words”.

Lipshutz said the ADC would investigate the commercial.

And they are incapable of comprehending why they have been chased out of nearly every nation that they have infected.

Incidents like this live up to the reputation Jewry has, which is absolute neurosis.

Rob,

What's worse is that the sort of insanity they dwell in has infected far too many people in the Gentile community.

“When a parasite invades, it hides as long as it can, sucking the vital juices and draining the energy of its host. Yet there is a limit to what the host can tolerate: eventually, it either builds up an immunity to the depredations of its "guest," or it is sucked dry and exhausted to the point of near-death. Having used up nearly all available military and economic resources in Iraq, the U.S. has a choice: it can either build up an immunity to Israeli influence, even a partial one, or it can let itself be turned into a dry husk, a casualty of Tel Aviv's ambitions.” -- Justin Raimondo

Re: Beer commercial ‘leaves sour taste’

Many years ago Lufthansa began an ad campaign which started out like this:

As you know, we Germans have a reputation for being efficient, very efficient. We're rather famous for it, in fact. Some even say we're too efficient...but we here at Lufthansa believe you can never be too efficient in serving our passengers, so we're always working on ways to serve them better...more efficiently...

The usual suspects said the usual things and the campaign was quickly scrubbed.

Is there anything good that Jews don't find offensive?

Re: Beer commercial ‘leaves sour taste’

Anyone interested in this issue should read the book "Onward Christian Soldiers" by Donald Day. Mr. Day was the Baltic correspondent for The Chicago Tribune for 22 years, 1920's - 1940's.

His articles and observations in this book are a powerfull reminder of what we have lost in regards to an independent media that address issues without having to run everything through the kosher filter.

An interesting paragraph:

In Warsaw the tremendous number of applications for visas from Jews and Poles compelled American government to enlarge the consulate staff to some sixty people. Almost all were engaged in handling visa cases. The reception room of the visa department had to be deloused every night. The daily recurring spectacle of hordes of Jews clamoring for visas proved too much for these Americans. Each Saturday afternoon, immediately after the closing of the consulate they would gather in a nearby restaurant and rave against this type of immigrant. They organized "The Kill a Kike a Day Club" and "The More and Better Pogrom Society" and after a few drinks to overcome their depression, they would break forth into their battle song, which was "Onward Christian Soldiers." We sang this with deep feeling in Warsaw against the Jews many years before Roosevelt and Churchill sang it for the Jews on board the ill-fated Prince of Wales.

Re: Beer commercial ‘leaves sour taste’

I think some enterprising German should make a beer called "Judenfrei" and put one tiny drop of bacon grease in each vat to negate any possibility of kosher certification.

I'd buy it.

I got curious about this story and decided to see if anyone else has picked up on it. While I didn't find any aditional information I did find this.

To the Editor:

Please join with me in putting pressure on the Coca Cola company to change
the name of its soda, Fanta Orange, and ask them to offer an apology to the
Jewish community for their wartime profiteering with an enemy of the state
during World War II.

I have cut-and-pasted a page from the online encyclopedia Wikipedia.com
showing that Coke allowed its factory in Nazi Germany to stay open and
continued to make a profit on Fanta Orange despite the fact that we were at
war with Germany and that they tortured and murdered more than 6 million
Jews.

Please help to tell Coke that its day of atonement has arrived. To continue
to market Fanta Orange is a slap in the face of common decency. To me, it
represents United States capitalism at its absolute worst. Let us enlighten
them.

There's no link, but it wouldn't surprise me for a minute if this turned out to be true. Why not? It has all the arrogance that one has grown accustom to when it comes to the tribe. Some of the wits on this board can have fun with this. Say an ad about how raw a concentration camp guard's voice can get working the gas chamber/crematorium detail yelling at Jews that the eye glasses go in this pile and the jewery here, etc. And of course yelling at the kapos to hurry up with the removal of the bodies and how refreshing a cold fanta orange is at the end of a busy day.
